Scones
Ingredients
Yields 6 pieces.
- 225g self-raising flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 15g sugar
- 40g margarine
- 150ml soya milk
Instructions
- Measure the flour and baking powder into a bowl. Rub in the margarine until there are no lumps of margarine left. Stir in the sugar.
- Mix to slightly sticky dough with most of the milk. Depending on the flour you use, you probably won't need the last little bit, which you can use for glazing.
- Roll out the dough on a floured board until it is just over 1cm thick. Cut out your scones with a cutter and place them on a lightly greased baking sheet. Brush tops with milk.
- Cook for about 15 minutes at 200°C until risen and lightly browned. Serve split with jam and cream.
